Morning Session: Psychiatric Competencies for the Non-Psychiatric Nurse
Description: This program will provide nurses with information regarding the nursing management of mental health issues impacting hospitalized patients in a non-psychiatric setting. Clinical presentation and nursing interventions of a variety of mental health disorders and relevant regulations, communication strategies, and assessment tools will be discussed, including case-study review.

Afternoon Session: Understanding Autism and Autism Spectrum Disorders: A Workshop for Nurses
Description: This program will provide information on the identification, classification, management, and clinical interventions for patients with autism spectrum disorders and their families. The role of the nurse and
other health care providers caring for a child with autism or other special needs will be specifically reviewed.
