Hundreds of Nursing Students will Attend MNA Program on Transitioning from the Academic World to the Real World of Nursing
What:
This April 4 program will give “soon-to-be-nurses” (students from area nursing programs) an opportunity to ask a panel of local RNs questions about the process of leaving school and becoming a professional registered nurse.
Panelists will provide input on how to successfully make this transition and will also discuss the hard realities of working in today’s stressful nursing environment. Students will be advised on how to best manage a job search in today’s market, as well as how to ensure orientation and/or preceptor programs as part of a new job. Representatives from area hospitals will be available to discuss possible employment opportunities. This MNA-sponsored program will also provide reporters with a unique chance to interview new grads and experienced RNs about the nursing crisis and how today’s nursing students are an essential part of solving the problem.
