Region 3 Virtual Program: Post-Partum Mood and Anxiety Disorder: How to Identify and Refer Appropriately

Description: This course will provide an overview of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (P.M.ADs), including how they present across pregnancy and postpartum and how to differentiate between expected emotional changes and clinically significant symptoms. Participants will learn how to identify risk factors, recognize warning signs, and understand the impact of P.M.ADs on both parent and infant functioning. The course will also outline best practices for timely, appropriate referral to perinatal-specific mental health services with a focus on reducing barriers to care and improving outcomes.
