Process Launched to Reimagine MNA’s Role in Better Supporting Members to Meet Emerging Changes in Healthcare and the Broader Society
We wanted to alert members that the MNA offices will be closed on April 9th and 10th for an offsite joint retreat for the MNA Board of Directors and MNA Staff. The Board advocated for the retreat as an opportunity for the Board Leadership and MNA staff to come together to take a fresh look at the operations of the MNA with the goal of positioning the MNA to better support our members, and position the MNA to be able to confront and respond to what promises to be a challenging future for healthcare and the broader society we serve.
In recent years there has been rapid and significant turnover of MNA staff. This transition, which is mirrored in our membership, has resulted in a loss of important institutional knowledge. This transition is occurring during a critical societal shift where the introduction of AI is changing how we work; social media has strained how we form relationships and communicate with each other, changes in government priorities also jeopardize access to and the financing of healthcare. These challenges are daunting but also create an opportunity to reimagine how the MNA works and can work for the betterment of our members, our patients and our communities.
We apologize for any inconvenience this disruption may cause, and we thank you in advance for your understanding. Please be assured that not only will we be providing updates on the outcome of these discussions, but we will also be reaching out to all MNA our members for their input and participation in this transformational work in the months ahead.
