Status Report
December,
2005
On Friday December 16th Unit 7 members
went to the State House to celebrate the holiday season
with our Governor and Lt. Governor. While neither
Romney nor Healey were able to come out to greet us
(they of course find it much more productive, for
themselves, to campaign rather than govern), they
did send out the “Romney Grinch” to deliver
us the present they said we deserve: COAL. We responded
by singing situation specific Christmas Carols. Next
in the name of our fellow providers and our patients
we deposited coal in a large stocking and we took
it into the State House and delivered it to the Governors
office. The highlight of the stop at the Governors
office was when Unit 7 member Karen
Coughlin recited her translation of “The Grinch
who Stole Christmas”, appropriately titled “The
Mitt who Stole Contract”.
All in all it was a great and very
wet day. It was just another step in our campaign
to gain an equitable contract for Unit 7 and our patients.
