The MNA, in conjunction with the Massachusetts
Emergency Management Agency (MEMA), is holding an educational
program on Feb. 11th and again on Feb 25th for nurses, physicians,
EMTs and hospital support staff on emergency medical reponse
to hazardous materials and acts of terrorism. Information on
the program and who to contact to pre-register is provided below.

Course Objectives:
The MEMA is sponsoring this program on Emergency Medical Services
in response to Hazardous Materials and acts of Terrorism. The program
is specifically designed for Physicians, Nurses and EMTs, and Hospital
Support Staff to provide education in the treatment of individuals
exposed to chemical and biological agents. Program will include
identification of hazardous materials, toxicological and biological
effects of chemicals and biological acts of terrorism. The chemical
profile of common agents, the decontamination procedures, the personal
protective equipment will be discussed. CDC Guidelines for surveillance
of exposed nurses and other healthcare workers and nursing interventions
for patient care will be identified. Class size is limited to 25
participants per session. Please reserve your space early.

MNA Members $45 All Others $65
Chemical Sensitivity:
Scents may trigger responses in those with chemical sensitivities.
Men and women are requested to avoid wearing scented personal products
when attending this meeting/program.
Refunds:
Refunds for educational programs will be issued up to two weeks
before the program date minus 25% processing fee. Requests for
refunds will not be honored within the 14 day period of the program
date.
Contact Hours:
Continuing education contact hours will be awarded by the Massachusetts
Nurses Association which is accredited as a provider of continuing
education in nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Program Cancellation:
MNA reserves the right to cancel programs when registration is
insufficient.
