Urban Health Symposium

A Symposium on Urban Health Care Policy: Innovative Health Care Policy for the Urban Community: Nursings Strategic Role, sponsored by the University of Massachusetts Boston, College of Nursing, will be held on:

A minimum of 16 CEUs will be awarded. The purpose of this national conference is to a) disseminate nursing and other health related research that may influence health policy and health service models of care in the urban community b) to provide participants with knowledge related to research with the potential to influence health policy,  and c) to explore the development of partnerships and alternate ways of delivering nursing care within the urban environment that builds on existing structures. 

The symposium will provide a forum for nursing and allied health care educators, administrators, direct care providers, researchers and students to disseminate and exchange knowledge about health care policy and models of health service delivery, and education models that maintain and foster high quality, cost effective health care services to health care consumers from infancy through the old age. 

Key speakers include Virginia Trotter Betts JD. FAAN, Policy Advisor Department of Health and Human Service; Julie Sochalski Ph.D., FAAN, Associate Director for Policy Research University of Pennsylvania; and Jan Towers Ph.D. Dir. Policy, Research, Government Affairs American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
