The Power of Massachusetts Nurses - Shaping the Future of Our Profession

The MNA is directed and run by the membership with an elected board of directors and a grassroots organizational structure. With regional councils in five different regions of the state, members have an opportunity to become involved in the MNA on local issues and concerns. The MNA also provides members with an opportunity to influence nursing and other healthcare ssues on a national level.

Types of memberships:

  • The membership structures of the MNA varies to meet the changing needs of the growing nursing community and healthcare culture. Most members fall into one of the following categories:
    • Nurses and healthcare professionals represented by collective-bargaining units
    • Individual professional memberships
  • There also are a variety of special membership programs for:
    • retired
    • student
    • new graduate
    • disabled nurses
  • Finally, the membership is organized into geographical areas called regional councils throughout the state:

Membership Dues:
Membership dues may be paid in a variety of ways. To learn more about dues, please call the MNA Membership Deptartment at 800.882.2056, x731, 734, 737 or 738 or email membership@mnarn.org

As part of a strategic effort, the MNA procures monthly membership dues through Electronic Fund Transfers (EFT Direct) directly from member checking or credit card accounts. This is the preferred payment plan and it provides a lower annual fee incentive.

Obtain application forms:

  • If you work at a hospital that has an MNA bargaining unit and you wish to join, you may also contact your unit chairperson. Unit chairpersons can provide you with an application and fee schedule.
