The MNA contract for nurses at Baystate Noble Hospital expires at the end of March 2020, and we intend to begin negotiations in January. We are committed to keeping care local, ensuring safe patient care and supporting the nursing profession. As part of those efforts, we are reaching out to members of the community who rely on Noble's services. This will help us develop contract proposals that are informed by the perspectives of the community we serve.

When Baystate Health Systems bought Noble Hospital in 2015, they promised to keep services in the local community. But in February of 2019, they announced that the Fowler Psychiatric Unit will close in 2 years. Then in August of 2019, they closed the ICU. In October of 2019, they eliminated the positions of half of the 2N medical surgical nurses, leading to an unprecedented number of unsafe staffing incidents in November of 2019.
