Massachusetts Nurses Association Endorses Sara Orozco for State Senate

Cites Her Personal and Professional Experience on Health Care and Patient Safety Issues

julia faheyCANTON. Mass — The Massachusetts Nurses Association, the state’s largest union of registered nurses and health care professionals, recently announced their endorsement of Sara Orozco for State Senate for the Norfolk, Bristol and Middlesex District.

In making the announcement, MNA President, Beth Piknick, highlighted Orozco's personal and professional experiences in the health care system, as a patient herself and as a professional psychologist who has used her own experience to help others who are dealing with serious medical conditions. "When it comes to understanding the health care system, Sara Orozco is perfectly suited to comprehend and advocate for the solutions that are necessary to make the system better for all of us." Piknick said. "A cancer survivor who has undergone multiple treatments and surgery herself, she has seen what works and what doesn't work for patients and their families. She understands the role that nurses play in the health care system. She knows from personal experience how important it is for patients to have access to expert, compassionate care, and how vital it is to have a system that is set up to provide that level of care. The MNA is proud to support this candidate. Residents of her District will be lucky to have her on Beacon Hill protecting their interests."
