FORMER BOARD OF TRUSTEES JOINS WITH COALITION TO SAVE WALTHAM
HOSPITAL


WALTHAM, Mass.—The former Board of Trustees of Waltham Hospital announced today that they have joined with the Coalition to Save Waltham Hospital in the effort to preserve the 116 year legacy of quality healthcare services in the Greater Waltham area.

At a meeting tonight, the Coalition formed a steering committee to coordinate and advance efforts aimed at saving Waltham Hospital. Among the actions being undertaken by this new committee will be to prepare and mobilize members for the upcoming February 5th hearing on hospital closings before the Massachusetts Legislature's Joint Committee on Healthcare and the February 11th public hearing on Waltham Hospital by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

"The coalition looks forward to working with the former Board of Trustees to halt the closing of Waltham Hospital and to put in place a turnaround plan to ensure the hospital's fiscal and operational future," said Dr. William Mulroy, Co-Chair of the Coalition to Save Waltham Hospital.

Former Board members Brenda Capello, Flora D'Anglo, Rev. Ezequiel Gonzalez, Anthony Magini, City Councilor Kathleen McMenimen, Laura Cannon-Ordille Esq., Regina Rockefeller, Esq., Joseph Roller, Fredrick Brasco, Martin Coleman, Peter Hardy, Esq., John Sergi And Drs. William Mulroy, Solomon Gabbay, Richard Lyons, Robert McIntyre, Alan Virk, Doug Keene, Steven Nathin and John Mulroy. Also in attendance were Coalition founding members Dianne Koch, Massachusetts Nurses Association representative Patti Camuti, R.N., Service Employees International Union representative Peg O'Connor L.P.N., Maureen Chartier, Patrice McDonald, R.N., Kelly Cooper and Michael Richmond, M.D.

The Coalition to Save Waltham Hospital is a broad grassroots
organization and campaign to save Waltham Hospital from closure and to protect health care delivery in the Greater Waltham area.
