Masschusetts Nurse | April 2000
Lobby Day 2000 another success
More than 300 nurses from all corners of the commonwealth turned
out for the most successful and well-attended MNA Lobby Day at the
Statehouse in the 15 years the MNA has hosted the event. The day
featured presentations by nursing leaders and MNA lobbyists about
the MNA legislative package, with a focus on the needlestick injury
prevention bill, the comparative nursing data bill and the statewide
health care ballot initiative. Among those speaking were MNA President
Karen Daley, above, and American Nurses Association Executive Director
David Hennage, who flew in from Washington to attend the event.
In addition, more than 40 legislators took to the podium to voice
their support for nurses and the MNA policy initiatives.
