Nursing Foundation Selects Speaker for High Tea

The Massachusetts Nurses Foundation has selected Mary Beth Mathews, Ph.D., RN, director, University of Hartford School of Nursing and Ohio State Nurses Association past president as its featured speaker for High Tea at the Ritz Carlton in Boston on March 24, 2000 from 1-3 p.m. High Tea is a popular event for the Foundation, providing nurses with an opportunity to enjoy a prominent speaker in the luxuriant surroundings of high society.

Dr. Mathews will be presenting a “Light and Lively Look at Nursing in the Millenium.” Her professional scholarship has included national presentations and refereed publications including Research on the Baccalaureate Completion Process for RN’s. Her areas of research interest are faculty development, applied scholarship and interdisciplinary education and practice. Dr. Mathews is a member of the ANA Board of Directors, two terms as president of the Ohio State Nurses Association and chairman of the executive committees of the ANA Council on Continuing Education and of the Constituent Assembly. She serves as a site visitor for the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program and is certified by the ANCC in Nursing Continuing Education and Staff Development.
