Special Recognition for Legislative Advocacy
 
     
Representative James O’Day, 14th Worcester District, received the MNA’s “Freshman Legislator Award.”

Award Recipients
     
 
Mary Burgoyne, a recipient of the “Elaine Cooney Labor Relations Award.”   Joanne Caloon with her “Elaine Cooney Labor Relations Award.”
     
Marie Ritacco, a nurse member from St. Vincent Hospital, after receiving the “Elaine Cooney Labor Relations Award.”   Susan Wright Thomas was also awarded the “Elaine Cooney Labor Relations Award.”
     
The final “Elaine Cooney Labor Relations Award” was presented to Cheryl Cochran, an RN at Cape Cod Hospital.   The MNA’s “Advocate for Nursing Award” was presented to Representative Martin Walsh in recognition of his contributions to nurses and the nursing profession.

Traci Armstrong after receiving the MNA’s “Excellence in Nursing Practice Award”
     
Roberta Gately, an RN at Boston Medical center, received the “2007 Human Needs Services Award.”   Mary Denise Glidden, a nurse at Providence Behavioral Health Hospital, was one of three recipients who were awarded the “Kathryn McGinn Cutler for Health and Safety Award.”

28. Rosemary O’Brien after receiving the “Kathryn McGinn Cutler for Health and Safety Award.”   Jeanine Williams, a long-time MNA member and nurse advocate, was awarded the “2007 Judith Shindul Rothschild Leadership Award.”
     
Lynne Starbard was one of two nurses who received the MNA’s “Image of a Professional Nurse Award” at the organization’s annual awards dinner.   An “Excellence in Nursing Practice Award” was also presented to Carol Armstrong.
